Former Uzalo actor, Mpumelelo Bhulose, has allegedly been fired from new drama eTV drama Imbewu: The Seed.
According to Isolezwe, Bhulose who played the character Zimele Bhengu has not shown up for shoot for three weeks without any explanation. Since his disappearance on set, the production team has been very unpleased with Mpumelelo’s alleged lack of professionalism.
The production team had reportedly been very patient with former Uzalo actor because he played the main character on the show.
Speaking to DRUM, Michael Pocock from etv confirmed that Grapevine Production has terminated Mpumelelo Bhulose’s contract on Imbewu: The Seed.
“The absence of Bhulose’s character, Ngcolosi ‘Zimele’ Bhengu was written into the storyline some time ago, however, the executive producers have since decided to end their relationship with Mr. Bhulose.”
It is not the first time that the actor had been fired from a show, in 2016, rumours of the actor being fired from popular soapie, Uzalo emerged with reports alleging that the actor had been fired by management for repeatedly butting heads with co-workers and producers.
Speaking to DRUM, Mpumelelo said that he has no comment about the allegations made against him by the production company.
In a 2017 interview with DRUM, Mpumelelo spoke o his messy departure form SABC one drama Uzalo.
“When I give my all in a production, I must be appreciated,” he says. “I didn’t leave Uzalo on good terms. If we had been, we would still be working together. But when people keep saying wrong things about you, that should tell you who has the problem.” The matter was handled with a lack of respect, he said.
“When season one ended and the second one was coming up, nobody bothered to call to me inform me my services were needed. They kept quiet, so I decided to move on with my life.”
