In 2014 Television and Radio personality Thando Thabethe gave birth to “The Thando Thabethe Womens day netball challenge”. This is an event aimed at creating awareness around issues affecting women and raising funds towards a worthy course. The tournament is in its 4th year and this time around bigger and better.
The talented star who is currently in Frankfurt, Germany joins many celebrities who are publicly against the abuse of women and children, and what better way to do it than sports. During its first 2 years of inception, the Thando Thabethe Women’s Day challenge managed to raise approximately R150 000 towards Bethany House, a shelter for abused women.

On a personal level, Thando is flying high herself becoming a force in the entertainment industry. She has hosted some of the biggest awards ceremonies in the country,namely the South African Music Awards and the South African Film and TV awards, also bagging the title of first female to host a drive time show on 5FM. Thando can also be seen on the biggest soapie in South Africa, Generations The Legacy.Way to go girl.
